The Festival
programme featured the following parts:
Youth Theatre
Festival featuring performances by and/or for children. (9 to
10.30 P.M. every night) |
Special
performances (10.30 to 12 P.M. every night) featuring plays
not related to the Mahabharata. |
Mahabharata
performances (after 12 P.M.) Live theatre, dance & puppetry
from Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh featuring selected
episodes from the Mahabharata. The five nights of the festival presented a visual journey of the epic that began with the marriage
of Draupadi and ended with the final battle between Bhima and Duryodhana
on the eighteenth day of the war. |
Off-stage
performances (after 6 A.M.) Some performances were concluded
by spectacular 'off-stage' scenes in the early morning. |
