The Moolavar is Kaaisina Vaendhan seen in bujanga sayanam posture facing east.  The stem of the lotus starts from the Lord Vishnu's navel & joins the lotus on which Lord Brahma is seated on the wall.  Indran worshipped here to get rid of his Brhmahatthi dosham.  Yagyasharma, a brahmin had been cursed by the sons of sage Vasishtar to become a raakshasan.  On worshipping the Lord at this sthalam, he got vimosanam from the curse.
