About 8km from Kumbakonam in Tamilnadu, Tiruvidaimarudur is situated between Mayavaram and Kumbakonam on the banks of the Cauvery. It is also called Madhyarjuna and the presiding deity is Mahalingam. People suffering from mental afflictions are said to be cured by offering worship at this shrine.
